About the Conference
World ROP Congress 2009 is the 2nd international conference on retinopathy of prematurity to be held on 21-23 November 2009 in New Delhi, India. The theme of the conference is No-ROP: Partnership, Prevention and Planning. The first World ROP Congress 2006 was held in Vilnius, Lithuania from September 14-16, 2006.
In light of the 3rd epidemic of blindness due to ROP which is currently taking place in middle income countries and in the emerging economies of Asia, the purpose of this 2nd international meeting is to provide a forum for ophthalmologists, neonatologists and neonatal nurses to share knowledge and experiences concerning risk factors and the pathogenesis of ROP, what can be done to prevent and treat the condition, and how programmes for control can best be set up and run.
